Therapeutic Community explained here...

Philosophy

"The Family that changes."
To empower, reconnect & give hope. Enabling lifelong change to create a positive future for individuals and whānau impacted by Alcohol & Drug Addiction.

Treatment Programme

Holistic approach to treatment. Developing open, honest and willing participation so residents learn from their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a supportive therapuetic community.

St Marks Provides:

  • Adult Residential Treatment
  • Supportive social detoxification for Nelson Marlborough Clients
  • 7 days a week, 24 hour support by on-site staff
  • Strong emphasis on family atmosphere and
Te Whare Tapa Whā model of health
  • Trained professional staff
  • Group counselling
  • Therapeutic Community concepts tāngata whai ora  -  people seeking wellness

We talk about tāngata whai ora (people seeking wellness plural) or tangata whai ora instead of using the word ‘client’, we may also use the term ‘resident’ or simply ‘people’. We use the term whānau to denote family connections that may or may not be blood related.

We are dependent on charitable donations and funding for the continuation of our programme.
